Guinness World Book of Records has indicated that they are interested in having our 2008 Pony Run establish a WORLD RECORD for the most Ford Mustangs on a Cruise/Parade/Drive. As of July 15th, 2008 there has never been an established record for most Ford Mustangs in any type of event. The Blue Ridge Mustang Club of Asheville would like to establish such a record and invite as many Mustangs to our 2008 Pony Run and be part of a WORLD RECORD. This is a serious opportunity to be part of a most unique event and establish a WORLD RECORD!

PONY RUN AGENDA

The agenda for the day is as follows:
(please note: all times are approximate except for registration)

Vehicle Registration:  8am-10pm
Any vehicles not wishing to do the Pony Run for any reason will stay at show site and be parked in a temporary parking location until the Pony Run vehicles have departed.

Dash Plaque:  All registered participants will receive a special Pony Run magnetic dash plaque.

Breakfast:  Dunkin' Donuts will provide free donuts to the Pony Run participants while supplies last.

General meeting:  There will be a general meeting for all those going on the Pony Run at 10:15am.  Please attend this meeting as we all need to be on the same page as far as the rules and regulations of the Pony Run need to be understood.

Pony Run: Give or take a mile or two, it is a 62 mile round trip drive from Asheville, to Brevard then up the mountain to the Blue Ridge Parkway and then down the Parkway back to the show site.  Based on last years Pony Run, we expect this to be a one hour and 45 min to two hour round trip.

Law Enforcement:  Local police, Sheriff Depts., Highway Patrol and Park Rangers will provide us with proper escort through traffic lights and major intersections. Please stay as close as you safely can during the Pony Run so other vehicles cannot cut in or break up our convoy.

Lunch:  Lunch is served from 11am to 3pm  There will be 3 food vendors.  Luella's BBQ, Celebrity Hot Dogs and Chick Fil A.  Coke will have soft drinks and water available from 8am-5pm.

T-Shirts:  T-Shirt sales will be at the Blue Ridge Mustang Club of Asheville tent.  We also will have DVD's available from last years Pony Run available for sale.

Live Music:  Live music will be offered from approx. 1pm-4pm.  Local band the Chrome Loafers perform classic rock and country.

DJ:  A DJ will be on hand all day to provide music and updates on voting, raffle ticket sales, 50/50 and trophy presentation.

Trophies:  There will be 35 trophies presented from best in show to 'furthest driven' and best dressed engine. Award presentation will be on or about 4:00pm or 4:15pm.

Voting:  Voting will take place from 12:30-3:00pm.  It is a popular choice voting system.  Next year our two day show will be an MCA modified judging format.

50/50:  The 50/50 will start at noon and go until about 3pm.  At or about 3:15pm the 50/50 will be awarded.

Raffle ticket items:  We will be selling raffle tickets for items that have been donated by local and national companies. Some of the national companies are: CORSA, AMSOIL, MOSS MOTORS, CJ PONY PARTS and NATIONAL PARTS DEPOT.  Raffle ticket winners will be announced at 3:30pm.

Door Prizes:  Your ticket is attached to your dash ID. Listen for your number to be called before the Pony Run starts and during the car show in the afternoon!!!

Please visit our vendors and sponsor tables!  Without them, we could not have such a great show to provide to the Mustang World!!
